Manhattan in monochrome For five years, I had the opportunity to live in New York City. Basing myself in the heart of Hell's Kitchen gave me a first-hand experience of the never-ending pulse of city life. It was while living here that I really started challenging the boundary of my photography skills. Digital cameras were now reaching an evolutionary point where equipment prices were coming down and I was able to buy my first professional lens was the Canon 17-40mm. From there I slowly built the lens collection based on the different types of images I was trying to capture.
