Mountains and DesertsIn 2019, we took a 7-day drive across Central Morocco; from Marrakech to the northern edge of the Sahara Desert.While the terrain almost looks Martian in how barren it is, underground rivers continue to carry the ample water supply that facilitated the creation of trading routes across North Africa.Desolate valleys would often suddenly become luscious green fertile lands, while market towns often sat on precarious hillsides, benefiting from their natural defenses.
