Young Family Portraits

This page is dedicated to all those who have just had a recent addition to the family - firstly CONGRATULATIONS. I get asked a lot if I will take family portraits. The answer is yes, but I am a photographer, not a cattle-herder. So here is my deal:

WHAT'S OUT

Stuffy studios; awkwardly posed shots; beige backgrounds; uncomfortable stools; standard results

WHAT'S IN

Outdoors; relaxed candid shots; natural light; zoomed compositions (i.e. I can be quite a way away from you); different locations around New York

WHAT'S IT WORTH?

I charge US$210 as a flat fee which includes high-resolution digital versions of up to 15 images. Each additional image costs a further $14. Any travel expenses will be passed on at cost.
Why this pricing structure? I look over every image one by one, and in the time we are together, I may take 100+ pictures. I will put them all online in a private library in a semi-finished format for you to view and share with friends. For the images you "select", I then review each and make some more detailed edits as necessary.
Example: On viewing the 100 images online, you decide you want to download your 20 favourites. 15 are included in the flat fee. The extra 5 cost a further $14 each. These 20 will be edited and the edited versions will be put online for you to download. Any of the other 80 images can also be ordered as prints but the digital versions cannot be downloaded.
Please note: the fee does not include printing. You will be able to order prints directly from your private online library for any of the images. You will also be able to download the high-resolution versions of your "chosen" images to send off to a different printing company if you so wish.

OTHER CONSIDERATIONS

Young children get tired fast, so I will endeavour to work quickly. When choosing a time, pick one where they will be awake and calm - pictures of crying irritable children never look good.

Now if that puts a smile on your face like it did Anna Horrell (below) then give me a shout.
